About

One chess journey, three countries

Born 2011 — Aakrit Seth grew up with a chessboard in three languages. He knows what it is like to be the youngest in the tournament hall, and exactly how to climb from beginner to 2000.

DE 2017 – 2023

Berlin, Germany

Aakrit learned chess in Berlin and joined SC Weisse Dame. At age 10 he was already runner-up in the Berlin U10 Blitz Championship; in 2022 he swept the U12 age group, winning both the classical and blitz titles, and was selected for the Berlin state squad (Landeskader).

NL 2023 – now

Amstelveen, Netherlands

With Zukertort Amstelveen he became a Dutch youth club-team champion in 2023, climbed the Dutch team competition (Klasse 3), reached the national youth championship U14 and pushed his FIDE rating past 2000 at age 14 — beating opponents rated 2259, 2200 and 2083 along the way.

IN visits

Himachal Pradesh, India

Playing FIDE-rated rapid events in India — including the 1st Kangra International Open — keeps his game sharp against all-ages fields and connects him with the chess community his family comes from.

FAQ

Questions parents ask

Something else on your mind? Use the contact section below — questions are free and answered in English, German or Hindi.

What level do you coach? +

From complete beginners (learning the moves) up to players around 1600. If you're above that, Aakrit will tell you honestly and can help you find the right trainer.

What ages do you teach? +

Mostly kids and teens (6–16), because Aakrit is 15 and pupils relate to a coach close to their age. Adult beginners are also welcome.

Which language are the lessons in? +

English, German or Hindi — whichever your child is most comfortable in. Growing up in Berlin and the Netherlands and playing in India, Aakrit speaks all three fluently.

How do online lessons work? +

You get a video call link (Zoom or Google Meet) and a shared analysis board on Lichess or Chess.com. All your child needs is a laptop or tablet — no chess set required.

Is the trial lesson really free? +

Yes — 20 minutes, no commitment, no payment details. It's the easiest way to see if the coaching is a good fit.

How do I book and pay? +

Pick a time via the booking link on this page. Payment is by Tikkie (Netherlands), bank transfer or PayPal — details are confirmed when you book.

What time zones do you teach in? +

Aakrit is based in the Netherlands (CET/CEST), so evening slots work well for Europe; weekend mornings also work for families in India.

Do you offer group lessons? +

Not yet — 1-on-1 gives the fastest improvement. Small groups (2–4 kids) may be added later; ask via the contact section.
